Mercedes group sales top BMW in August

Frankfurt: Global sales at DaimlerChrysler's Mercedes Car Group rose 1.2 per cent to 88,600 units in August, nosing past arch rival BMW in the race to be the world's biggest premium carmaker.
But Munich-based BMW maintained its lead over DaimlerChrysler in the first eight months of the year and reiterated it expected to keep the leadership of the premium car segment that it snatched from Stuttgart-based Daimler in 2004.
"We will continue to be the clear market leader worldwide among the suppliers of premium automobiles and will once again exceed the sales record of the BMW group from 2005," BMW sales chief Michael Ganal said even after August sales fell.
The German rivals are both posting record sales volume as they push sleek new models into the market, the key to stoking demand and avoiding steep discounts to sell the vehicles.
Sales at Mercedes Car Group which includes the Mercedes-Benz, Smart and Maybach brands rose 6.9 per cent in the first eight months to 818,200 units as a 10.8 per cent gain at Mercedes-Benz offset a drop of nearly a fifth at Smart.
Group sales at BMW fell 10.9 per cent to 88,394 vehicles in August as demand for BMW brand models slipped and Mini sales tumbled.
Powered by record deliveries in the US and Asian markets, Mercedes-Benz brand sales advanced 3.2 per cent to 81,700 vehicles in August, the world's fifth-biggest automaker said.
Mercedes-Benz is riding a wave of demand after launching revamped versions of its M-Class offroader and S-Class executive car last year. Year-to-date sales of the S-Class which Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche says outsells the BMW 7-Series and Audi A8 combined hit 61,500 units.

Защото Гиорето търкаля Мерцедес, а това е солидна реклама за фирмата

Според мен е нормално Мерцедес да са напред с продажбите.Все пак предлагат толкова много модели ... бусове,камиони... крайслер

Днес точно БМВ пуснаха във вътрешния си сайт новината, че ОТНОВО ТЕ са най - големия продавач в света на premium cars 
.
Почти мога да се обзаложа, че и Мерцедес са излезнали със същата в тяхната пропагандна преса:D.
